The broad trough of low pressure over the South China Sea brought showers to the coast of Guangdong today. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with a few showers. There were sunny periods in the morning and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. A few millimetres of rainfall were generally recorded over the territory, and rainfall even exceeded 30 millimetres over the eastern part of Lantau Island and Cheung Chau. The broad trough of low pressure will continue to bring showers to the coast of Guangdong tomorrow. As the subtropical ridge of high pressure strengthens again in the following few days, it will be generally fine and hotover the region.
