Thus后的句子想给个解释，要不要用because引导从句？

我在一个句子里用了Thus 但我又想解释原因，这个时候我是直接写句子，还是用because 引一个从句？

例如：Thanks for my waking them up, the guy who cleaned room would not be in a flurry for being afraid of being late for class. Thus, our room was always the cleanest one in our class, because other rooms in our class would always do such cleaning things in a big hurry.

这个时候我需要用这个because么？

我觉得用as代替because好一些。because这个词用在这有点太重了我觉得。as也有表示原因的意思，不那么强烈。
