I am writing to you following receipt of an audit report made on your production unit "Hangzou Yutu Spinning and Knitting Co. Ltd." which was visited on 10 May 2012, and is listed by your company on your Supplier Statement which is held by SOCAM, the company charged with monitoring compliance with the C&A Code of Conduct for the Supply of Merchandise.
Please be advised that the overall appearance of this factory has been rated "acceptable" and we confirm that the unit is (generally) in line with the requirements of the C&A Code of Conduct for the Supply of Merchandise during the time of the audit.
Under the presumption that following findings will be rectified immediately, please be advised that production of C&A merchandise can continue in this factory.
- anti-burst lighting was not found in warehouse
- blocked fire extinguishers in workshops
- obstructed emergency exit at 1/F
- obstructed stairway
- worker did not equip ear plugs during working in wave workshop
- it was recommended to install fence for rotatory parts of weaving workshop
- messy washing workshop
However, on a regular basis SOCAM will foresee, unannounced audits at this site to check on the situation.
