thousand意思是一千。就是指一个数.
而thousands也是数。但是是好几千，比如2000就为two thousands
1000就为one thousand.
thousands of意为成千的。例如：There are thousands of studens in the school.那个学校里有成千的学生。

thousand是基数词,表示数量一千
thousands是相当于名词的复数形式,在其前面加大于二数量词,表示几千,并不单独使用
thousands of 译为"成千的,数千的".它是一个固定短语,后面跟可数名词的复数形式
