英语，为什么有的地名用the有的不用？

英语中地名要不要加the总结起来有两种情况：
第一，用在世界上独一无二的名词或专用名词加the，加了the很多情况就是特指。

例如：the sun太阳, the earth地球, the moon月亮, the sky天空, the world 世界，the Great Wall长城。普通地名不加the，例如：Yellow River黄河。

第二、江河海峡等如果river, lake在后面前多加the, 例如：长江the Changjiang River; 但如果在前面，就不加了，如Mount Tai。

地名、国名、街道等一般不加the,如北海公园Beihai Park, 河北省Hebei Province。
