一道sat语法题求解!!

11. August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle consists of ten plays, nine of which are set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, and each of which is set in a different decade of the twentieth century.
(A) nine of which are set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, and each of which is set
(B) nine of them are set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, and each one of them are set
(C) nine of them being set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, each of them is set
(D) nine of the plays set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, and the settings of each one is
(E) nine set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, and each have their setting
为什么E不对?还有其他几项?而是选B?

A项就是原句所以直接排除。SAT就是有一个选项是题目重现啊。

我选。B项 如果你对each one of them 后面接复数 are 有歧义,帮我一起问问你的新东方老师是不是打印错误呵呵~
不过这里有一个www.tfd.com/each 关于each的单数复数问题的解释示例。

The traditional rule holds that the subject of a sentence beginning with each is grammatically singular, and the verb and following pronouns must be singular accordingly: Each of the apartments has (not have) its (not their) own private entrance (not entrances). When each follows a plural subject, however, the verb and subsequent pronouns remain in the plural: The apartments each have their own private entrances (not has its own private entrance). But when each follows the verb with we as its subject, the rule has an exception. One may say either We boys have each our own room or We boys have each his own room, though the latter form may strike readers as stilted. · The expression each and every is likewise followed by a singular verb and, at least in formal style, by a singular pronoun: Each and every driver knows (not know) what his or her (not their) job is to be. See Usage Notes at every, they.

nine后面的set有多余的嫌疑,关键是each 和 have their 不太搭。好像是 each has its比较通顺吧。单复数其实语法是不限定的,只要搭配正确了就行。而且又有这个多此一举的setting!! 不过句子的意思是说每一幕都有单独的场景,那既然单独的就用单数好像好一点。。

ugust Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle consists of ten plays, nine of which are set in Pittsburgh's Hill District, an African American neighborhood, and each of which is set in a different decade of the twentieth century.
分析一下这句话的句子结构就不难看出其它选项的错误:这是一个并列复合句,主句是
August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle consists of ten plays ,后面由 and 连接两个并列的由 which 引导的定语从句表示“比赛”的时间和地点,先行词(被修饰语)都是 “plays”,B、C 、D 答案中 them 不能起到引导从句的作用。如果将 plays 后面的逗号改为句号,则 B 答案成立,但 are 必须改为 is。E答案中最明显的错误是“ and each have(应该是 has)”,当然还有其它问题。

对不起!这道题目粘错了!!!答案是另打上去的!!这道题应该选A,我想问的是这题
5. In some places the sea is unusually rich in nutrients tiny plants multiply there, turning the water green.
(B) Where the sea is unusually rich in nutrients, tiny plants multiply
(E) Tiny plants multiplying in the unusual nutritional richness of the sea

追答

你好,这个题目的答案我选 B
理由:答案 E 中有两个现在分词短语,但没有谓语动词。
In some places where the sea is unusually rich in nutrients, tiny plants multiply, turning the water green.(where 在此引导一个地点状语从句)
In some places ,tiny plants multiplying in the unusual nutritional richness of the sea, turning the water green.

E里面each是后面要加三单的不能是have而且和原句相去甚远
D/C完全就是混乱的句子,在SAT语法部分一定不会选这样的句子
A里面有conj也就是说后面必须加完整句子,但是后面关系词用的是which,也就是说缺少主语了,所以应该是两个them,选B
