The Little Prince is a story about love.
A pilot had an accident with his plane in the Sahara Desert. He met a little prince who asked to draw him a sheep. Through talking, he knew this pure, blue little prince came from a very little planet which was scarcely any larger than a house where a beautiful but proud rose lives. He admired her but was too young to understand how to love her. So the little prince left the planet and traveled to other planets. He visited many places and met various kinds of people like a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter, a geographer and finally arrived at Earth. On the earth, he met a sly snake and a fox who taught the little prince what true love was. With the realization of the true love between him and the flower, the little prince bid farewell to the pilot and went back home.
It is a story you need to read with your heart. As the little prince said in the book: “What is essential is invisible to the eyes.” People always say that they are busy with matters of consequence, anything else, including love, is insignificant. However, love is one of key factors of life. Starting with tender care, becoming unique by being tamed and finally sublimating with responsible and devoting without regret, love is the most beautiful thing in the universe. It is enough to make someone happy just to look at his/her lover. Just like the most beautiful sentence in the book: “The stars are beautiful, because of a flower that cannot be seen.”
Love is tender care. The beginning of love, just like the relationship between the pilot and the prince is a simple emotion that sometimes people only want to make another person happy. It is as mild as the sun shining upon the land or a butterfly revolving around a flower. Love can never be a complicated thing. Your tears for a stranger’s leaving is also a kind of love.
Love is tame. There are ten thousands foxes and millions of flowers on the Earth. Without love, all the flowers are just alike and a fox is nothing more than a little animal which resembles other animals. However, once you tame something, it will be different from all the others. You shall need each other and it will be unique in the world. Sometimes you may feel pain from this kind of relationship, but when you go through it and look back, you will know how precious the treasure you got was—an unparalleled love.
Love is responsible and devoted without regret. What moves readers most deeply is the little prince’s loyalty to a flower – “the image of a rose that shined through his whole being like the flame of a candle, even when he was asleep.” (Saint-Exupéry, A. 1943) As the flower, people sometimes seem inconsistent and always torment his/her lover with vanity. However, you ought to realize all the affections that lies behind those naive quarrels or stratagems. Love is paying with no regrets. That is what the wedding vows are all about: “to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, so long as we both shall live.” You should responsible for what you have tamed and that is the truth of love.
The personal experience of the author may contribute to a better understanding of the love. Antoine Saint-Exupery was born in Lyon in an old family of provincial nobility (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, 2011). His father died at his young age which left him a feeling of loss of paternal love. However, his mother gave him careful and thoughtful care and protected him while he grew. She was willing to listen to Antoine’s ideas and supported him even if his thoughts were strange and beyond reality. Meanwhile, music was an important part of this family. Antoine and his sister learned the violin and his brother played the piano. The whole family always got together singing old French songs. Music helped keep his heart pure and clean. He once married a beautiful young lady who was the prototype of the rose in his book. Although the two loved each other, it was as if the hedgehog fell in love with rose; they could not approach each other further. Antoine left his wife just like the little prince. He finally knew the persistent of love came from patience care and unrepentant paying. As he said in his book: “It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.”
The Little Prince is a fairy tale written for grown-ups. After all, “all grown-ups were once children—although few of them remember it.” (Saint-Exupéry, A. 1943) Few of them know what love really is. They know a lot of things like mathematics, physics and biology but have no ideas about love. What is interesting is that the children know. “They waste their time over a rag doll and it becomes very important to them; and if anybody takes it away from them, they cry… ”(Saint-Exupéry, A. 1943)
Love is the most beautiful thing in the universe, just resembles what the rose looks like in the eyes of the little prince.

Jane Eyre
From Jane,I am again convinced that independence is the fundamental element for a girl to fufill her hope. And it also works in the love affairs.Every one longs for love, happiness, but one usually cannot gain them without proper evaluation towards himself.Around us there are girls who tend to give up themselves to pleasetheir boyfriends and don't know how to stick to their own principle and thought.Easy gained, easy lost, human has the defect that we usually take the things come easily for granted. If you devoted yourself to your lover,he may not cherish you as that you satisfy his appitite just according to the condition. In the relationship with Mr.Rochester,Jane is rather reserved at the beginning, and it is her self-respect and clear-headedness enables her to do so.Though she have special feelings towards the hero, she does not hold extravagant hopes. As usual, she performs her duty well and has the future sensibly in mind. That rouse greater interest from Mr.Rochester.At the some time, the proper distance from Jane leads to stronger wishes to get close to.Interestingly,it is a common phenomenon amoung lovers. We can see that it is advisable to behave yourself moderately when your want to burn the fire of love within someone, and Jane sets a good example for us:loving yourself is the prerequisite of being loved.
