The Trip to Time
Once Lenin said：“Forgetting the past means betrayal！”Today I will not talk about the experience of going some places of interest，I will say something about the history of china instead。In fact，it’s a trip to time。
China with a recorded history of five thousand years is one of the world’s earliest civilizations。And she is regarded as the single oldest uninterrupted civilization in the world。In the long history，there seems to be cycles of division and unification，but unification has outlived division。It’s of great significance to learn from it。The contributions to world civilization of ancient China‘s four inventions：papermaking，printing，powder and the compass，as well as the remarkable achievements in mathematics，literature， architecture and other aspects，are universally recognized。We can make good use of them。For example，businessmen can apply the Confucian ethics in their business management，and the military academy can take the Art of War by Master Sun as one of their textbooks to learn strategies。
On the other hand，we live in an age of contradictions。 “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way…”With these words，Charles Dickens described the era of the French Revolution，early two hundred years ago。But he could just as well have been talking about today and tomorrow。Therefore，we have to learn from the history to deal with the difficulties today and tomorrow。
