3月8日是国际劳动妇女节，又称三八妇女节、三八节、妇女节、三八国际妇女节。是世界各国妇女争取和平、平等、发展的节日。
1909年3月8日，美国伊利诺斯州芝加哥市的女工为了争取权利平等和自由举行规模巨大的罢工和示威游行并最后取得了胜利。
