1. 有人认为公共场所应禁烟
2. 有人认为无所谓
3. 我的看法

It has been estimated that smokers have made up
half of the population in China.
And the smokers are becoming younger and younger, even including some middle
school students.
Nowadays more and more people have realized
smoking can do harm to people'shealth. However, some people still enjoy
smoking. Why? Because some of them think it is a kind of fashion, some think it
is of great fun and others think that smoking can refresh themselves.
In fact, smoking is a bad habit. It can cause a
lot of diseases. Meanwhile smoking is a waste of money. Besides, careless
smokers may cause dangerous fires.
Smoking is harmful and it is not only bad for smokers
themselves, but also bad for non-smokers.
Therefore, I hope all the smokers can give up
smoking for themselves and also for the people around them.

Since the 搜索government imposed a complete ban on smoking in bars effective July 1, 2009, some bar owners have complained they've lost up to 20 percent of their trade. But not everyone is hurting - not the ones who simply moved upstairs and out of sight. Timothy Chui reports.

It's been just over a year since nicotine withdrawal became part of the experience in Hong Kong bars and nightclubs.

Smokers, like their habit, are an obdurate lot, and they have proven resourceful in finding ways to beat the complete ban on burning tobacco in all public establishments.

Like the trail of smoke rising from the burning fag, smokers have headed upward as well - high into the fastness of the upper storeys of Hong Kong high-rises.

The smoking ban has been a boon for upstairs operators with balconies or patios. It is not illegal to smoke outdoors, i.e., patios, so long as it is not enclosed on three sides, according to the law.

Opening his fourth floor Lan Kwai Fong establishment overlooking the Hong Kong Brew House a few months after the smoking ban's full implementation, Otto Lounge Director Rickesh Kishnani said his balcony was a big draw for patrons, with just over half his clientele sauntering out to light up over the course of their evening there.
