i think famous university should be open to tourist so that more and more people can experience the deep culture phoneomon of chinese education.
meanwhile if parents bring their children to have a visit to those famous universities, such as peking university and qinghua university and beijing normal universtiy, it may encourage those younglings to make their mind to work hard to entre those universities. i used to hear a story that one naught boy didnot like study at all,but one day thire wise parents brought him to visit peking university . he was completely overtured by the culture and intellectual ambiance.
on the whole i hold the oponion that university should be open to tourists and should be totally free.
