相当于汉语的“的”，意识是房子里的东西什么也没有留下。
另一句是相同的意思，蛋糕什么也没剩下。
of 和后面的短语后置修饰前面的nothing

就是后面那个名词本身：
那房子什么都没留下
那蛋糕什么都没留下
你把left和remained在句子里面换个位置就好理解了
nothing of the house remained. (it is demolished)
there is nothing of the cake left. ( it is finished)

关于，对于，蛋糕没剩下，近似于I have no memory of this guy 对这个人没印象。 nothing left相当于memory 这个名词，只不过多了个left修饰nothing而已。
