一个句子只能有一个动词，前面已有一个are了，所以后面肯定不能用动词的原形了，而后面的needing to be repaired 是用来做interest的伴随状语的。这句话的意思是我们城市里有很多的名胜需要修理一下。

因为前面有个there be,它本身就是谓语,后面再添加一个谓语动词就要用v+ing或v+ed,至于是+ing还是+ed那就要看具体是什么时态了.
