吸烟有害健康 Smoking Is Bad for Health
As we all know, there are many people smoking, although everyone knows
smoking is harmful to us. Giving up smoking is not easy but addicted to
it is quite easy, that’s why there are more and more people smoking.
Smoking and passive smoking is risk factor that leads to various
diseases. It has become world’s top 8 causes of death. More than 90% of
lung cancer caused by smoking and lung cancer rates of smokers are 18
times over the non-smokers. Besides, smoking also causes
angiocardiopathy, digestive system disease, oral disease and so on. In
addition, passive smoking causes great concern in recent years. People
have known that passive smoking also do great harm to human, too.
Therefore, many countries and regions prohibit people from smoking in
public zones, in order to reduce the harm of secondhand smoke. From my
point of view, the best way to keep healthy is giving up smoke, for
smoker’s own good as well as for others.

It is known to everyone that srnoking is harmful to our health. Research conducted in many countries has indicated that smoking causes lung cancer, heart disease and various respiratory illnesses.
Nowadays more and more people have realized smoking can do harm to people'shealth. However, some people still enjoy smoking. Why? Because some of them think it is a kind of fashion, some think it is of great fun and others, think that smoking can refresh themselves.
In fact, smoking is a bad habit. It can cause a lot of diseases. Meanwhile smoking is a waste of money. Besides, careless smokers may cause dangerous fires.
Smoking is harmful and it is not only bad for smokers themselves, but also bad for non-smokers.
Therefore, I hope all the smokers can give up smoking for themselves and also for the people around them.

Responding to overwhelming medical evidence of the harnful effects of smoking, many governments have taken actions to reduce tabacco consumption. Some have imposed heavy taxes on tabacco products, others have conducted anti-smoking campaigns. In theatres, cinemas and some public places nonsmoking is often demanded by authorities.

However, none of the governments have even considered prohibiting the sale of tobacco. This is due partly to the political power of the big tobacco companies and partly to the fact that so many people, particularly in influential position in society, are habitual smokers. Tobacco farmers and workers are also strongly opposed to legislation. In fact, smoking is not only a matter of habit but also a matter of profits.本回答被提问者采纳

Tobacco use accounts for at least 30% of all cancer deaths in the United States. Smoking causes about 87% of lung cancer deaths. Smoking also causes cancers of the larynx (voice box), mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus (swallowing tube), and bladder. It also has been linked to the development of cancers of the pancreas, cervix, kidney, and stomach and some types of leukemia. Cigars, pipes, and spit and other types of smokeless tobacco all cause cancers, too. There is no safe way to use tobacco.
Smoking cigarettes increases the risk of heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the United States. Smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, physical inactivity, obesity, and diabetes are all risk factors for heart disease, but cigarette smoking is the biggest risk factor for sudden death from a heart attack.
A smoker who has a heart attack is more likely to die within an hour of the heart attack than a non-smoker. Cigarette smoke can harm the heart at very low levels, even when the amount is too low to cause lung disease.
About half of all the people who keep smoking will die because of it. In the United States, tobacco causes nearly 1 in 5 deaths, killing about 438,000 Americans each year. Smoking is the single most preventable cause of death in our society.

Based on current patterns, smoking will kill about 650 million people alive in the world today. If these patterns continue, tobacco-caused deaths worldwide are expected to increase from about 5 million per year today to about 10 million per year by the 2030s. Most of these deaths will happen in developing countries.
