1、意思不同

①select：vt.选择;挑选;选拔

adj.精选的;挑选出来的;苛择的;〈口〉爱挑三拣四的，挑剔的

②choose：vt.挑选;认为…比其它更可取;决定或选定

vi.选择;进行挑选

2、用法不同

①choose：指选择、选取人或物，可以不带宾语

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

有许多餐馆可供选择。

She had to choose between giving up her job or hiring a nanny.

她不得不在放弃工作和雇用保姆之间作出选择。

②select：指仔细选择、挑选

He hasn't been selected for the team.  

他未能入选进队。

3、强调对象不同

select：强调选择的动作，从多个类似事物中选出一个或一部分。

choose：强调选择的结果，并且不一定是从类似的事物中进行选择，有“抉择”的意思。比如“我选择了你，你选择了我”就只能用choose而不能用select。
