关于of的用法

有这么一句话：
This number,while it may be of some interest to nonscientists,isn't of much real value to researchers.

关于这句话里的第二个of，也就是isn't of nuch... 这块。
它要表示的意思我能明白。
但是我所知道的of一般是放在两个词之间来表示从属关系，比如 status of liberty
可是这里的of却是单独出现的，对于这种用法以前没有接触过，哪位高人能从语法或是为什么要这样用的方面来帮我解释一下～～感激不尽～

如果从使用上简单的去理解的话，BE动词+OF+名词，表示名词的形容词意思。比如说这里说的 be of some interest to nonsientists,就表示非科学研究者感兴趣的，isn't of munch real value to researchers表示对研究者没有太大价值的。
