at last和in the end有什么区别吗

at last只能指时间位置,而不能指时间顺序,在语义上指经过,周折,等待,耽搁后的“最后,终于”得到所期待的结果.
1 At last ,he passed the exam .最后他终于通过了考试.（可用in the end代替）
2 His chance came at last.他的机会终于来了.（强调他为获得此机会进行的各种努力.）
3 The war had been long and hard,but now there was peace at last.
经过漫长而艰苦的战争,现在和平终于到来了.
in the end 表示结局,有时可与at last 换用,不同的是in the end 也可以用于指将来时,at last则不行.

一、finally它可以放在句首，也可放在动词前。有两个用法：一是在列举事物或论点时，用来引出最后 一项内容；二是用在句中动词前面，表示“等了好久才…”。既可指时间位置，也可指时间的先后顺序无感情色彩，只用于过去时。如：

二、in the end放在句首或句末，表示“经过许多变化、困难或捉摸不定的情况之后，某事才发生”，有时可与finally互相换用，其反义词是in the beginning，但in the end不能置于动词前。如：
1、We found that small village in the end. 我们终于找到了那个小村庄。
2、He tried several times，and in the end he succeeded. 他尝试过多次，最后成功了。
经过周折,等待,努力出现了期待的结果. 与将来时连用，而at last和finally则不能表达这一含义。如：
1、I’m sure he’ll succeed in the end. 我肯定他最终会成功。
2、I hope that everything will turn out all right in the end. 我希望一切最终都会顺利。
