when 引到一个句子，在句中作主语，就是引导主语从句。
when he comes has not been decided yet.，在本句中，when he comes就是整体作主语，这是一个主语从句。例如When he left here is a question.他上面时候离开这儿的还没有人知道.此时when引导主语从句,意思是“什么时候”
when引导 时间状语从句,则基本有4种
1.表示有规律的,都用一般现在时
如：Water turns into steam when we heat it.
2.表示将来的事情,用主将从现（主句将来时,从句一般现在时）
如：I will tell him when he comes back.
3.表示过去两个有先后的动作,都用过去式
如：When he came back,I told him the news.
4.表示一个动作正在进行（过去进行时）,另一个动作插入（过去式）
如：I met my teacher when i was walking in the street.
