对于第一句特别不理解··· 特别是 than 后面的句子 怎么会那么翻译呢？

呵呵。要分不代表要字多。我喜欢言简意赅。看看我的分析吧。

A home without love is no more a home than a body without a soul is a man. 正像没有灵魂的身躯不成其为人一样，没有爱的家也不成其为家。
从语法角度讲是对的，A home without love is no more a home 和a body without a soul is a man他们是同位语，所以有两个"is"
这句话的结构是：A home without love is a home
a body without a soul is a man .
中间用no more than 连接

这是"no more …than…"句型
no+比较级+than”结构表示对两个比较对象都进行否定(可由neither…nor…结构来改写)。例如： I’m no more foolish than you.我们俩都不傻。(相当于Neither I nor you is foolish.
以上两点分析结合了。这个句子就应该理解了吧。

2.The oceans do not so much divide the world as unite it.
与其说海洋分割了全世界，不如说它使全世界联合起来。

与其说海洋分割了世界不如说他联合了世界。
这里do not so much……as 是“与其说……不如说……”的意思。常见的同义词组是rather tan,与该词组相同的用法可以参见“cannot……too much 再……也不为过”之类的。
